This session we'll be making our own macrame wall hangings and plant hangers from a variety of cords and recycled t-shirts. You'll learn all the macrame knots you'll need to make a variety of different designs and you should leave with one finished pieces and a few instructional sheets to make more at home.
We'll start with plant hangers so you can learn all the knots you'll need, then we'll go onto the slightly trickier wall hangings! There'll be a variety of designs, colour materials and cords to choose from. Macrame is sometimes tricky to grasp at first but then really relaxing once you get to grips with the knots. A whole day of macrame means you really get used to it and you'll leave a pro!
The workshop will run 11-3, I'd recommend bringing a packed lunch but there is a few cafes in Sunnybank Mills too.
Suitable for over 15s.
During the workshop everyone will have their own materials and tools and sanitiser and disinfectant will be available. If you feel unwell please let us know and stay home. I'd advise people to wear face masks when moving about the space.
The workshop will take place at Scrap Creative Reuse Art Project, an absolutely amazing space full of recycled materials that can be bought and used for all sorts of creativity. It's an inspiring space with a new zero waste refill station too.
