STRUT: Fashion + Music + Identity
Family Creative Workshop
Tuesday 4th April 2023
12-3pm at Dewsbury Town Hall
FREE
For WOVEN 2023 we’re planning a community catwalk event outside Dewsbury Town Hall to celebrate fashion and identity on 3rd June! Join this free, family friendly workshop to create your own accessories to wear on the catwalk.
Join artists Kim and Julia to create your own tactile fabric jewellery using a variety of different plaiting, finger knitting, knotting and twisting techniques, with some pom poms and tassels too!
We'll be working with eco friendly t-shirt yarn and creating pieces in colours and styles that reflect your individuality and identity. You could create necklaces, headbands, earrings and more, in big eccentric styles or more subtle depending on your own personal style.
Materials will be provided, but you're welcome to bring your own materials to incorporate into it, or a t-shirt you'd be happy to turn into yarn.
