Upcycled Mosaic at Hare Hill Barn

  • Hare Hill Barn Grange-over-Sands, England, LA11 6NZ United Kingdom (map)

In this workshop we will turn mosaic tiles, ceramic tiles, broken crockery and lots of other upcycled pieces into mosaic works of art.  You will be able to choose from a choice of base shapes to work on, and learn the best adhesives to use on each one.  You can create a range of smaller pieces or one larger piece.  You can come prepared with an idea (an image of a landscape works perfectly) or you can decide on the day.

You will be given a bag of grout to take home to finish your pieces at a later date – a demonstration will be done to show you what to do.

If you have any objects you would like to bring to mosaic with, please feel free to do so.

Your tutor, Kim Searle, graduated from the University of Huddersfield BA Textile Crafts Course in 2012 after specialising in printmaking with an emphasis on creative work with communities.  She offers creative workshops across the country, recognising that everyone learns differently.  She strongly believes in the benefits of creativity for mental health.

Refreshments are provided throughout the day including home baked cakes, and a two course lunch.

Cost: £75 to include lunch and refreshments
